We then had the evening free. I went for a walk through downtown and there was nobody around. The whole city seemed deserted. The steep hills made walking a pain in the butt and it was cold too. Ever since we arrived, everyone felt bad vibes about the place. I dunno, it was the first time they had ever said something negative about a place. Vancouver and Victoria spoiled us obviously. Seattle was pretty odd though. There was a decent city and a huge industrial area three times as large surrounding the border (Seattle's ghetto, I guess). I knew the boats, factories, ports, and trains had to be there but they were all uuugly!
